What is Freemasonry?
Freemasonry is the oldest Fraternal organization in existence. Written records about the Order date back to 1390. Freemasonry is a charitable organization. Masonic organizations in North America collectively contribute well over two million dollars every day to charities throughout North America. Community Involvement The Stafford Masons are active in the local community, supporting numerous philanthropic endeavors. Community activities include the coordination of county Red Cross blood drives, participation in the regional Toys for Tots program, the Stafford County Emergency Assistance Food Pantry, and support for the Stafford County Crime Solver’s Annual Golf Tourney. In addition, the Frank P. Moncure Scholarship Fund benefits the High School Seniors in the Stafford County School System.

Who was Frank P. Moncure?
(Frank P. Moncure photo - 1935, John A. Lejeune Lodge #350) Frank P. Moncure was born in Fairfax, Virginia on November 5th, 1889, and was a member of the John A. LeJeune Lodge Number 350 A.F. and A.M. He graduated from The College of William and Mary and Georgetown University, earning a degree in Law. He served as the Commonwealth’s Attorney for Stafford County (1920-27), and also served in the Virginia House of Delegates (1936-1939). He died on January 12th, 1969. |
